TSW Supports, Attends AEE Solar Dealer Conference
The Strategic Word was in Mesa, AZ, February 17-21, 2010, assisting client AEE Solar for the third consecutive year by helping organize, providing publicity, and creating the web pages for the annual AEE Solar Dealer Conference.
A record number of suppliers overflowed the exhibition hall at the Hilton Phoenix East, providing a rich opportunity for dealers to meet face-to-face with representatives from some of the industry’s major manufacturers.
TSW's Ron Jones twice presented his class, "Your Role in Creating a Great Website," to near capacity rooms. Based in part on Ron's article "Essentials to a Strong Web Presence," first published in the April/May 2009 issue of SolarPro. Officially closing out conference week, about 20 conferees joined us on a TSW-sponsored hike in the Superstition Mountains east of Phoenix. The trek began early Sunday morning and, despite wet weather, we enjoyed some spectacular scenery in and around Lost Dutchman State Park. It was a breathtaking end to a successful week.
Our new website launched!
A project we started in early 2009 – creating an entirely new website for our own company – has finally come to fruition. The cobbler's kids adage applies, as our own work repeatedly took a back seat to the demands of client work.
Now that the hard part is done, we plan to keep our site fresh and growing, adding useful tools and resources to help renewable energy companies and cleantech entrepreneurs in their marketing efforts.

SolarPro features article by TSW's Ron Jones
The solar trade magazine SolarPro asked Ron Jones, founder of The Strategic Word, to write an article about building an effective website. Working closely with his colleagues, especially designer Marina Kozlovskaja and fellow writer Jerry Sena, Jones spelled out the fundamentals of creating a website in a 7-page article that ran in the April/May 2009 edition of SolarPro. The article – "Essentials for a Strong Web Presence – Make Your Solar Company Website Vital Today and Tomorrow" – used a site overhaul we had done for a client as a real-world example.
Although it targets the magazine’s audience – solar dealers and installers – the article also serves as an exposition of the strategic approach we take to virtually any client or communications project.
TSW helps organize and promote client solar conference
In February of 2009, for the second year, our client AEE Solar held its 300+ person dealer conference in Mesa, AZ. TSW played an integral role in the production and promotion of this convention, the largest supplier-based training event in the solar industry.
Plans are now underway for the 3rd annual AEE Solar dealer conference, February 2010, also in Mesa.
